The first stop this morning was the Cheonggyecheon Stream. This stream runs through the center of Seoul. In the 80’s it was paved over and used as roadways. However, in the early part of this century they decided to restore it and it is now a lovely place to walk and contemplate.
We are seeing a lot of city art of all kinds during our drives throughout the city.
After the visit to the stream we took Mary back to the hotel. She has a pulled muscle and is in a lot of pain. The rest of the group then headed off to visit the Secret Garden of Changdeokgung Palace. There were a lot of oriental styled buildings...
and some lovely ponds.
And then a visit to Deoksugung Palace.
The itinerary had scheduled a visit to another palace, but Anthony said the third palace was just like the other two, so offered a visit to the Kwangjang Market, absolutely massive. The group wanted this as a change of pace. Good choice.
